FewCast is a small, privately operated dispatch tool. People who sign in use it to send their own X posts, by direct message, to recipients who explicitly asked to receive them. This page explains what this FewCast installation stores and why.

What we store when you sign in

  • Your X account's public identity: user ID, handle, display name, and profile image.
  • OAuth tokens issued by X so FewCast can act on your behalf. Tokens are encrypted at rest. FewCast never asks for, sees, or stores your X password.

What the app processes to do its job

  • The recipient roster you build: handles, display names, list status, the opt-in evidence you record, and notes you write.
  • Campaigns and per-recipient delivery records, kept so the same person is never sent the same post twice.
  • Inbound direct-message events, checked only to honor STOP (unsubscribe) and START (resubscribe) replies.
  • Mutual-follow relationships, when you run a sync.
  • A log of API requests (endpoint and estimated cost) and an audit log of actions taken in your workspace.

What we don't do

  • No advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies — the only cookie is the signed session that keeps you logged in.
  • No selling or sharing of data. Data leaves this server only toward X's API, to perform the actions you trigger.
  • No reading of message content beyond matching unsubscribe and resubscribe keywords in replies sent to the connected account.

Security

Data lives in a server-side database. OAuth tokens are encrypted with a key held only on the server, and traffic uses HTTPS. Each signed-in account's data is isolated from every other account.

Retention and deletion

Your data stays until you remove it. In Settings you can export everything, disconnect X access (which deletes your tokens and stops background work), or use Delete my data to permanently remove your account and every record it owns. You can also revoke FewCast at any time from X's connected-apps settings. Server backups can persist for up to 30 days before rotation.

If you received a message sent through FewCast

Operators may only message people who explicitly opted in. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe — this is honored automatically — and START to resubscribe. Your handle, delivery records, and your STOP or START replies are stored so that your choice is respected.

Changes and contact

Material changes appear on this page with a new date. Questions or requests: contact the operator of this FewCast installation.
